Calming Camellia

CASE the catalog, again I say CASE!!

I was trying to to prepare some cards from the upcoming Jan-Feb 2022 Sale-a-bration FREE Calming Camellia Hostess set, but had no clue where to start... so opened the Sale-a-bration catalog and voilà!! Instant inspiration… and rest just spilled out! Gorgeous stamp set!! Even with a little #simplestamping, the card is wonderful!!

Seriously, I get stuck and when a new set comes out and I can only find one card made with the set, I sometimes really need inspiration. The Stampin’ Up! catalogs very rarely fail me, and CASE’ing (copy and share everything) is just what I need to get the creative juices flowing. You should have your copy of the Jan-Feb 2022 Sale-a-bration Catalog soon. If not, reach out to me and I will gladly send you one (US only).

I took the upcoming Sale-a-bration catalog, flipped to the FREE Hostess set in the back called Calming Camellia and a picture of a similar card popped out at me. I was intrigued by the monochromatic (all one color or shades of one color) design and loved how the camellia flower petals popped off the page by adding a little Whisper White ink with a Blender Pen (just dipped the blender pen in the ink pad)!! The subtle tones and stamp design make this set a dream to work with. The images and verse were stamped with Evening Evergreen Ink. The card base is Pool Party CS with a 8-1/2”x3” piece of Soft Succulent CS. The White 3/4” Frayed Ribbon was sent to me for free by Stampin’ Up! because I attended OnStage@Home 2021 (they like to shower us with free goodies from the upcoming catalogs)! If you compare the catalog image with my version, you will see that I did not have the Soft Succulent 1/2” Shimmer Ribbon, but I am very happy with my version as well!

This card style is a “slim-line” card, and Stampin’ Up! is adding envelopes for this card starting with the Jan-Jun 2022 Mini Catalog coming January 4th. The base is 8-1/2”x7-1/2”, with a score line at 3-3/4” for a card at 8-1/2”x3-3/4”, fitting perfectly in the Slimline Envelopes. The envelopes come in a package of 15, 5-each of Soft Succulent, Smoky Slate and Basic White. My final touch was the Pearls Basic Jewels.

Happy Birthday

This card is the same elements as above, but just a simple card base from 8-1/2”x5-1/2” Soft Succulent CS, scored at 4-1/4”. I had little blip of ink just left of the greeting (stamped in Evening Evergreen ink), so added the White 1/4” Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon. I added the same image in Soft Succulent ink on the envelope - so easy and beautiful! #simplestamping at it’s finest!!

Lovely You

This lovely little card is easier than it seems. I used Sponge Daubers to apply the ink to the stamp so I can get different shades. I used Evening Evergreen ink on the leaves, Soft Succulent ink on the background, and Polished Pink ink on the petals! I have gorgeous camellias in my yard, so was stoked when the pink was a perfect match for my yard!! The verse is stamped on Basic White CS (3-3/8”x4-1/4”), glued to Soft

Succulent CS (3-1/2”x4-3/8”), glued to Polished Pink CS (3-5/8”x4-1/2”), popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals on a Basic White Thick CS. I added the pretty little Brushed Brass Butterflies (another free goodie from OnStage@Home and available in the upcoming Jan-June 2022 Mini Catalog).
