Jungle Pals - FREE

I got a big surprise when I starting playing with the FREE with purchase Jungle Pals Stamp Set & Dies from 2024 Sale-a-bration. They ended up being so enjoyable to play with and this fun-fold card made my day! I don’t typically choose cute critters, but thought this set and dies would make for a great birthday card for one of my grandchildren. I love how the jungle has so much depth with the benefit of the fun fold. And that adorable sloth!!

As of today, both stamp set and dies are still available. If you use my Host Code ZZYYQRAU for any purchase of $35 or more by 2/17/24, I will send you my upcoming Excellent Egg Class Kit for FREE (USA only)! Free Sale-a-bration & Free Kit… WOW!

You are all kids of WONDERFUL!

This card was part of my Marvelous Monday FB Live yesterday, and I featured the FREE Jungle Pals Stamp Set and Jungle Pals Dies.

I started with a 5-1/2”x11” piece of Basic White Thick CS. I scored it at 1-1/2”, 3”, 5”, & 7”. While the finished card becomes 4”x5-1/2”, you don’t have to mess with all the 1/8” fold measurements and the card ends up so deep, it will mail better in a Medium Envelope. My YouTube Video for this card is below, and the other measurements and instructions are below.

I used 2 sheets each of the Lighter Than Air 6”x6” DSP, and though the colors are not typical, the soft pastels make this adorable card work without feeling overwhelming with too much busyness! I cut 2-each of 1-3/8”x5-1/2”, 2-each of 1-7/8”x5-1/2”, and one of 3-7/8”x5-1/2”. If you do it right, it should line up so the clouds look like they float continuously across the folds.

The foliage cardstock colors are Pool Party, Pecan Pie, Petal Pink and Lost Lagoon. I die cut out 5 of the tree leaves in Lost Lagoon CS, 3 of the underbrush (in both), 3 of the palm fronds (in both), 3 flowers in Petal Pink CS, 6 flower leaves in Pool Party CS, and 2 vines in Lost Lagoon CS.

Be sure to watch the video for placement of the underbrush, tree trunk, vines and leaves. I staggered their placement with the folds to get a nice 3D effect when the card is folded together.

I used the 2nd to the larges circle die from Basic Shapes Dies in Pool Party CS and Basic White CS cut with the 2-3/8” Circle Punch for the sentiment. Both the sentiment and the sloth are stamped in Memento Black ink. The sentiment comes from the Lighting The Way stamp set.

I used the Pecan Pie Blends and Light Petal Pink Blends for the sloth’s colors and showed on my video how I got the shading and how I placed the sloth to help support the location of the tree leaves. I also placed my circle sentiment last, but you may want to place it before the tree leaves to make sure you have enough room for the sentiment.

The last thing for any great card is the embellishments. While the flowers really don’t need them, I used the Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots in coordinating Lost Lagoon, but any will do for a flower center.

One of the items I mentioned in my video is my choice of colors. I tend to try to keep my designs with few colors to help keep the design less visually overwhelming. There is a lot going on with this card, so by keeping the colors to Basic White, Lost Lagoon, Pecan Pie, Petal Pink, and Pool Party… the card’s cute elements shine and provide an overall pleasing design. I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I did!
