Splendid Day Suite Collection
Stampin’ Up! Love’s their demonstrators, and provide so many new techniques and creative ideas.
This last month, they provided an online class called Creativity Now, an opportunity for demonstrators to play with new product together with the SU! creative team. This product was the Splendid Day Suite Collection… a lovely collection of products in the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog!
The Splendid Day Suite Collection include the Splendid Thoughts Bundle (Splendid Thoughts stamp set and Splendid Stems Dies), Open Leaf Trinkets (in rose gold), Soft Sea Foam 3/8” Seam Binding Ribbon, and the Splendid Day 12”x12” Specialty Designer Series Paper in Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party, Fresh Freesia, Sahara Sand, and Copper (I used Pale Papaya to coordinate).
With the recent Creativity Now class under my belt, I decided to use the Splendid Day Suite Collection for my next class in July. I was thrilled to see this lovely collection had FREE coordinating Pool Party & Soft Sea Foam Cards & Envelopes in the July-August 2022 Sale-a-bration Catalog, and even more so that you get 20 FREE cards & envelopes!! Wow!!
Gift Bag
One of my class projects that I learned from the Creativity Now class was this lovely gift bag. It looks complicated, but it goes together really easily. This bag, once finished measures at 7-1/2”x5”x1-1/2”, a perfect size for a set of cards, lotion, or other small gifts. The stunning foil specialty paper make for gorgeous gift bags that can be used for weddings, showers, birthdays or any occasion!
Items needed:
Ink color dependent on gift bag foil paper (Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party, Fresh Freesia, Sahara Sand or Calypso Coral (for copper paper)
Stylish Shapes Dies #159183
Splendid Day 12”x12” Specialty Designer Series Paper (2 ea. 9-1/2”x7”, scored)
Open Leaf Trinkets – 1 ea.
Soft Sea Foam 3/8” Seam Binding Ribbon – 60”
Colored Cardstock (based on above colors) – 3”x3” for circle
Vellum CS – 2-1/2”x4-1/4” (for foliage die cuts)
White Bakers Twine – 12”
Basic White CS – 1-1/2”x3-1/4” – for sentiment
This bag is two sheets of any DSP you have, but the foils are stunning. Score the left side 1/2” from left edge, 1-1/2” from bottom, 3/4” and 1-1/2” from the right side, and 3/4” from top. Score the second sheet the same.
Place Tear & Tape along the ½” tab along the long sides of both sheets only, then along the bottom on one of the flaps (top & bottom), and on both the bottom 1-1/2”x1-1/2” right hand tabs.
Take off the Tear & Tape on one of the long sides, then line it up under the other sheet so it matches along the score line. Once adhered, fold over along the score line and make sure it lines up with the opposite score line. Fold over other edge, take of Tear & Tape, then adhere. Fold other two long sides so bag becomes a rectangle. Remove Tear & Tape on bottom tabs, folding over smaller side tabs first, then bottom tab with tape, then the front tab over, lining everything up. Sit up on bottom, then fold over top. Add ribbon in two loops around top & bottom of bag and tie into a bow.
Taking your 3” square matching cardstock, stamp in your coordinating ink one of the foliage images, then die cut it out with the second to the larges circle die from the Stylish Shape Dies. . Take the Vellum CS and die cut one or two foliage to add to the circle die cut piece with Glue Dots. Stamp your sentiment on the scrap Basic White CS, then die cut it out with your 1/2 circle die from the Splendid Stem Dies, then pop it up on the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Punch a hole in the tag. Using the Baker’s Twine (white), thread the Open Leaf Trinket and tie, then thread through the tag and tie again, then tie around ribbon with a bow. Add Champagne Basic Rhinestones (not shown) if desired, as they coordinate so well with the Open Leaf Trinket.

Fold and braise your card base at the score line and set aside. Using the Night of Navy Ink, stamp foliage and bee on Basic White CS front, then using the Pool Party Ink, stamp the foliage shadow over the top. Then run the CS through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Timeworn Type 3D EF and glue it to the Night of Navy CS front back layer and pop up on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Using the Night of Navy Ink, stamp the sentiment on the small Basic White CS, the fussy cut around it. Take smaller Night of Navy CS piece, and die cut with bowl die, pop up on bottom of foliage with Stampin’ Dimensionals and pop up greeting with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add gems as desired.
Much Love
Fold and braise your card base at the score line and set aside. Take Distress Gold SP, and die cut from the center the bowl and foliage die and set aside (save the left-over distressed pieces and surround). Take Basic White CS front and emboss it with the Elegant Eucalyptus 3D EF, then using the Blending Brush and the Soft Sea Foam ink, lightly rub ink over embossed edge to desired effect.
Take Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp sentiment, then die cut “Much Love” with banner die from Stylish Shapes Dies, cutting off the remainder of the sentiment.

Distress the edges of the Distressed Gold SP and Basic White embossed layer with the edge of scissors. With Soft Sea Foam ink, stamp eucalyptus then die cut it out, along with foliage from the pool party and soft sea foam scraps.
Glue down distressed gold layer to card front, then pop up embossed layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Using Glue Dots, adhere ribbon to back of gold bowl, then add large Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up on right side of card. Using Glue Dots or Stampin’ Dimensionals, add foliage as desired. Pop up sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals, tucking it under some of the bowl and foliage.

Fold and braise your card base at the score line and set aside. Emboss the Calypso Coral CS front with the Brick & Mortar 3D EF, then take the Blending Brush and the Craft White ink and lightly add the ink to the front to desire effect. Take ribbon and tie around piece into a bow at lower 1/4, then pop up layer to card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Using the Memento Ink, stamp sentiment on Basic White CS, eucalyptus on Petal Pink CS, and foliage on the Soft Sea Foam CS, then die cut out, along with ½ circle with Splendid Day SDSP and the extra foliage.

Fussy cut out sentiment. Take ½ circle and pop up using Stampin’ Dimensionals, placing it just over the ribbon, then pop up sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Using glue, Glue Dots and Dimensionals, arrange the foliage as desired. Add Open Leaf Trinkets using glue dots. Add Pearl Basic Jewels as desired.
